Pineapple fibre is now used as an alternative to leather. We are thinking about its proper implementation on our future products.
In pineapple it is the leaves that are recovered, recovering waste from the fruit industry. These sheets are transformed into fibres that are felted, like a textile felt. A coating is then applied to the entire exterior surface, giving it a grained or metallic appearance depending on its nature.
The felted structure of the material gives it characteristics of resistance, waterproofness and breathability close to leather. The coating developed by the supplier Ananas Anam will soon be marketed in its biodegradable formula which interests us particularly.
